Before the test flying the insurance companies wanted 10 hours dual instruction in an identical plane (good luck with that) and around $2300 for the first year. And so I blew off the insurance.
Now that the testing period is over and I have 54 hours in an identical plane (mine), I got the following insurance:
Agent : Skysmith 800-743-1439
Underwriter: London Aviation Insurance
Coverage: Hull: $35,000. $1,000 deductible in-motion, $500 not-in-motion
Liability: $100,000 per seat, $500,000 per accident.
Medical: $3,000 per passenger.
Pleasure use only.
The cost was broken down as $910 for hull coverage, $437 for liability ($1,347 total).
