More clouds, unintentional battery check

Flew around Hillsboro again. Some nice puffy clouds. Noticed low voltage warning light. Voltmeter showed low voltage. Started getting noise in the intercom as the voltage dropped. No alternator warning light. Alternate battery voltage was even lower. Headed home. Upon arrival found that a butt joint I had between a section of 16ga fusible link on the alternator and the 12ga wire going to the battery had failed. My fault, it was a 10-12ga butt joint that I had tried to crimp the fusible link in.

Back at home I talked my hangar neighbor to give me a ride in his Starduster Biplane before he sold it. We did an aileron roll, a loop and a hammerhead turn, pretty cool.
