Fixed alternator power wire. Took off and checked the transponder with Portland Approach. I was indicating 2500ft, they reported 2400ft. Flew towards Mt. Rainier and checked climb rates again. At 12000MSL still had 600fpm climb at full throttle (4800rpm). At 14000MSL still had about 450fpm climb at 4650rpm. Indicated airspeed was down to about 70kts, but ground speed still showed 105mph. I guess I'll have to borrow someone's O2 bottle someday to see what the service ceiling really is!
