Installed two helicoils in the stripped out case hole with red Loc-tite. Cleaned and inspected camshaft, cam followers, the accessible main bearings. Lubed and reassembled parts. Coated case with Permatex Ultra Gray sealant and mated it back together. Reinstalled redrive but had two of the bolts strip out at around 15-18 ft*lbs.
Tried to remove valve springs from right head to check valve guides. Couldn't get the #4 cylinder intake valve retainers to release, so I decided to pull that head too. Piston tops and cylinders look ok on that side also.
Found that the #4 cylinder intake valve guide has sunk into the head about 1/4". The wear marks on the valve stem show that the guide hits all the way up to where the valve starts to taper larger.
Note that the over-heating telltale solder pots on both heads appear to be melted.
Looks like I'll have to have the valve guide replaced on that head.
