Wife and I are here in Colorado Springs looking for a house. We found a couple we liked and decided since the plane was here anyways we might as well fly around and see what they look like from the air.
Plane definately performs worse taking off at 7000MSL than at sea level. Takes significantly longer for the plane to start flying on the take-off roll. Still only uses about 1/4 of the available 6000ft runway at Meadow Lake airport.
The thinner air makes my already margin vacuum system almost worthless. The artificial horizon still seems to work but the DG now just spins constantly. Quite annoying.
