Current Progress
Pictures of the shipping crate,
rudder, elevator, horizontal stabilizer and center wing are also available.
Here is the right wing
panel (less the skins) as it comes from the factory. The wing is
divided into three almost equal sections: the left and right
removable panels and the center section that is attached to the
fuselage.

Internal skeleton of the right wing, shown upside
down. The channel between the front two ribs blocks off the
end of the wing baggage locker.
The top skin is cleco'd in place. 'L' stiffeners are
used between the ribs.
The top of the wing, showing the cutout for the
baggage locker (rough cut at this point).
Putting the top skin on.
Tie-down straps are used to pull the nose skin
(0.025" thick) tight against the ribs prior to drilling and
clecoing. The uncovered wing locker is visible in the forground.
This is the wing locker with the cover installed.
The cover is held in place by 5 'dzeus' 1/4 turn fasteners.

The black is flexible conduit for the wingtip
stobe.
My closet contents so
far: (threw out all those pesky clothes):
Two outer wing panels
One elevator
One horizontal stabilizer
Two ailerons
One rudder (right side, behind the others)
The welded aluminum fuselage fuel tank
The canopy (tinted) is wrapped in the brown
paper.

Time for a motivational picture...
